Walkeweg Building Plot B

The ‘Walke’ project is being developed in collaboration with the cooperatives “Zimmerfrei” and “GEWONA Nord-West” on Building Plot B on the site Walkeweg in Basel. The housing project comprises four 4-storey buildings, which form two separate residential communities. The project focuses on creating affordable and sustainable housing.

Zirkular is supporting the project in the frame of a potential analysis, in which the circular economy concept is refined and the use of reused building components and materials is clearly defined. The focus is on selected building components that offer high potential for CO2 savings. In addition, Zirkular provides support with processes, procedures and specific questions regarding the implementation of the reuse components. Zirkular will search for these selected components in renovation and demolition sites and will support the process from professional dismantling through their reinstallation in the ‘Walke’ project.
