The Reuse Design Studio was carried out twice at ETH Zurich. The aim of the semester was to familiarise students with the topic of reuse in architecture by allowing them to experience the entire process themselves, from the search for building parts to the effective reinstallation of salvaged components. The practical approach on the construction site was complemented by presentations from a variety of stakeholders from the field of reuse, politics and entrepreneurs as well as visits to pilot projects.

In the spring semester of 2022, the students used the harvested components to design and build a pavilion for the SKKG Foundation in Winterthur Hegi.

In 2024, the book ‘STUDIO REUSE: A Pavilion for Reuse’, which was started as part of the semester project, was published by Library of Reuse. The content, editing and concept were developed by Clément Estreicher and Natalia Pieroni.
